John Denver was a superstar artist who was a hit with his pop-folk songs and many of them based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. grew up in Roswell New Mexico. He fell in love Colorado. The singer-songwriter eventually moved to Aspen. Denver's famous anthems about Colorado have inspired many people to relocate to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the curator of this hall of fame, stated: "I don't believe there anyone else who has as much a connection to Colorado like John Denver." Denver was the one of the first Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. Many consider Denver to be the Colorado image. In my travels I've encountered individuals from New Zealand or the other side. If you inform people you're from Colorado the first words they'll use are"Oh John Denver. Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's top 10 singles after he performed with small folk music bands. The song was written and recorded by Bill Danoff. Danoff initially wrote the song with Johnny Cash's music in mind, but Denver knew from the first time he heard the first versions of the song that it would be a big hit. The track was released just two weeks following that Washington D.C. performance.
